Season two generalized discussion- spoilers for all media types
I've been in this strange position lately with this fandom where I'm almost craving something to talk about, but have zilch for discussion material so just allow myself to be distracted by other things.
That and there's so much uncertainty around certain aspects of this season that I'm a bit apprehensive for it to begin. Apprehensive in a bad way.
So I'll just make this for general discussion. We of TQ have talked McHattie and his role to death, but there's so many other pathways this story will take which unfortunately will not involve him.
I see a lot of talk in articles re: Eph and Nora searching for some type of cure or reverse-infective agent. And all articles just scream WILL THEY FIND A CURE? ...well, no. Not if you want there to be more seasons, can't just rip the main conflict outta there. But I just find it interesting that they're taking such a different route from the books.
I mean, the books were great and all, but I'm a bit curious (did I mention apprehensive? ) to see what will be done differently, and how dramatically story lines will bifurcate. There's so much potential for a great alt-universe story here. ...and such potential for extreme suckage.
Thoughts, m'dears?

I cant stop thinking about mchattie..he's always on my mind lol.
but yeah the relationship between mchottie and Q is something i been toying with...either they're brothers from the same master or something else.... one of them is gonna end up against the other at the final battle...if he doesn't go poof first (not Q i mean).
as for gus and co......who knows??
i'm looking forward to the eichorst/abe fight - I hope they do it better than in the GN/book.

I am hoping that the writers looked at the content of the books and said to themselves: we can take this further and do better. The 2nd and 3rd books were so surface level that you would work in tons of AU stuff quite nicely and have it make good sense.
Agree with you Majin on the Eichhorst/Abe showdown. After I read that I was all, "What? THAT'S IT? COME ON."

Del Toro did say. That the show would be different from the books.
I'm thinking. That Eph and Nora make this bio weapon, but instead of killing vampires. It ends up turning Mchottie in two a human.
That could possibly get him out of the actions. With out taking him out of the show.

That would be pretty sweet.. or maybe it could cut that final cord between dhampir and maker. That way, when Ancient A, B, C etc burns, half-human protégé experience maybe some level of discomfort but survive death.
Now, whether or not they'd want to survive dead is another thing.

This maybe selfish on our part, but I would hope. He would want to survive.
And that would be pretty awesome too! Him free from the Ancients. I mean if he wants to be free. Then that would be amazing. If not. Well I still want him to be ok with it.
