Height and such...

When I was reading the book, I for some reason got the impression that the master, ancients, Quinlan, etc were all taller than the average human. Did anybody else think this? They said the coffin (in the show) was a good 8 or 9 feet and the master seems muscular in the comics.

Ayup. Q at least is a beast, taller than the average man, especially during Roman times.

The Ancients... the only vision I had was of atrophied corpses lol. I never really thought much of a height! But now that I think of it from the comics, where they're shown in doily gowns I can imagine them being kind of tall

But no, really. I was wondering about how tall he would be considering his dad was around 8 feet lol being half human, maybe about between 6 and 7?

In the comics, they draw Q as about as tall as Fet, so 6'2"- 6'3"? In the comics he doesn't seem bigger than the others. Do they ever say how tall Fet is?

Teh Interwebz says 5'10" was tall for a Roman man, so if Quinlan was even over 6'1" he would have been perceived as quite large. Plus he is described as "chiseled" which can make someone seem larger. In my headcanon he's about 6'2". That's plenty big.

We meet the Master while he inhabits Sardu's body, who had gigantism. He was probably more like 7' tall.

That then leaves the Ancients, who may have selected similarly tall individuals to inhabit.

No Napoleon complexies in the strigoi world.

my headcannon Q/mchottie is Stephen mchatties real height...still taller than Aria so its a good difference.

unfortunately i could not find Miguel Gomez height listed anywhere...but judging from this and mchattie is standing upright,they look to me about the same height??

I've seen McHattie listed as 6'1" but just doesn't look that tall. I think actors overstate their heights in their bios by a couple inches sometimes. I'd put McHattie at 5'11" max. There's a couple really good shots in Red: Werewolf Hunter where he's walking around - he really doesn't look very tall at all.

And yeah no height info on Miguel and honestly I've not been motivated enough to height check him/McHattie against other known-height actors in scenes from their other works.

We're just gonna have to go to a Con where Miguel is appearing and see for ourselves!

i dunno where you see him at 6'1" but his imdb lists this for his height

here is a still from lizzie borden and clea duvall looks way taller than him here...but then again she could be wearing high heels.

but yeah i love that height range....i've known guys in the 6" range and taller and im more comfortable around average height fellas.

and yes DAT POSTURE!!!!! i love all his mannerisms tho.

I can't find where I saw him listed at 6'1" either now...

Clea (who is 5'5") does look to be wearing a slight heel and the ground she's standing on is a little higher than him and she may be slightly forward of where he is. Christina Ricci, right next to him, is 5'1". He does look particularly short in this photo, more like 5'9".

McHattie pulls it off perfectly regardless of how tall he actually is.

Lol we used to sing this in the graveyard while playing hide and seek at church when I was 6 or 7.

^ That story could be the basis for a great piece of horror fiction... the ghost of Lizzie is resurrected by the singing of the children and chaos in the town ensues...

Ah, my kind of story! We were some weird kids, playing hide and seek in the graveyard, singing creepy songs, pretending we were zombies lol all of us grew up to be goth, too.

The house is a bed and breakfast within pretty easy driving distance of my apartment. My roomate has been begging ne to spend the night with him in that stupid bed for years.
