Other Fandoms

Because why the heck not? We've been quiet lately. Let's see if I can stir up conversation.

Due in part to increasing accessibility of the interwebz, most of us relate/trace roots back to more than one fandom.

If you follow me on Tumblr, you're probably aware of my other obsessions. :p

I'll list my 'main' ones, that is, ones that I have actively participated in and/or read fanfiction to. (You know Shadowflame is obsessed when she reads dem fics). I dabble in others.

TMNT- got me in to fandoms, fanfics, etc years ago. Boys are near and dear to me. Not as crazy about the new toon though...
Transformers
Kingdom Hearts
Watchmen
Twilight (I'll admit it- I ain't afraid!)
And, duh- The Strain

All right, both feet right into the pool - gonna date myself hardcore with these but ta heck with it:

Dragonlance - love me some Raistlin
FF VII - Sephiroth and Vincent, who else?
Icewind Dale/Dark Elf Trilogy - Drizzt Do'Urden

mine are mostly videogame related..

games
Legacy of kain (has hot vampire men)
castlevania (another game with hot vamps)
guilty gear (a really intense fighting game)
street fighter (of course everyone knows about this one)
the bemani series - rhythm/music games (dance dance revolution,beatmania etc..)
legend of zelda (because of elf reasons oh and nostalgia..) - but i dont like toon link,nor the direction the next game is going..

movies
lotr (of course because of pretty male elf reasons)
horror movies - 80s slashers - jason,freddy etc... also like yautja/predators but not the xenomorphs..also i just wanna say i do not like werewolves..like at all.

as you can see im mostly fantasy/horror oriented person..no wonder i stuck to vampires most of the time...

LOTR... I need to re-read those books. I don't remember them at all.

I am physically incapable of playing video games (aside from FFVII which was an epic 95 hour slog complete with cheat guide).

Ooooh everybody what about:
Lost Boys (Kiefer Sutherland eeeeee)
Near Dark (Lance Hendriksen was SUCH a badass)
Warlock (Julian Sands had the hot going on for a while...)

I had the biggest crush on Julian because of those movies!!!
(i still own the vhs from the 90s)

he still looks good for his age.

and lost boys is always a great classic!! ashamed the sequels didn't get the same effect..

anyone hear of the series of movies - subspecies?

As far as horror goes, personally I was never interested in one's where a human or person was the hunter/killer. Always preferred it to be more supernatural, with that sense that you can't stop it.

Video games... my more recent time killer has been Skyrim, which I've played on and off the past few years. Wayyyy too easy to lose yourself in that game. :shock

Lost Boys was a slumber party requirement, I still like that movie.

I think I tend to fall for characters then get sucked into their world. I've recently /am currently fangirling over Q and the Strain, Prince Nuada and HB, Bane from Batman, Jorah from GOT, and got into Jack and the Giant Slayer (don't judge lol).

Man, you guys have got way more energy than I do. I can't handle more than one obsession at at time!

Yess- I always have a thing for darker male characters! <3 Bane. Prince Nuada has a pretty decent following what what I've seen!

GD- hah, I tend to have multiple obsessions, but can always tell what I'm really in to at the time by what I've written fanfics for.

Anybody else think the character design for Prince Nuada was almost exactly what Elric of Melniboné should look like? Assuming you guys have read some Michael Moorcock...

I did not know the Weitz Brothers got the option to make an Elric film in 2007 and as of 2012 were still struggling to get it made. If they every succeed, the Elric fandom will most certainly ruin my life.
