Pontypool - the book
I highly recommend for those interested in seeing how far writing can be pushed.
Some of the most beautiful, spot-on descriptions I've ever read. The narrative isn't fully point to point so be prepared. Some passages need multiple reads to fully unpack. Some are near incomprehensible.
If you liked the film, you may want to pick it up. Even if you don't quite understand what Burgess is going on about in places (oh, there will be moments!), reading it is like looking at an abstract painting. You don't need to fully understand. There is beauty in the sound/structure of the words alone.
It's fun if you imagine Stephen McHattie reading it aloud.

Re: Pontypool - the book
All those books I still need to read...
I loved the movie and - of course - especially McHattie's performance.
As with most adaptions the books are almost always better. That's at least what I learned from reading books before or shortly after they got adapted as movies etc.
Thank you for recommending it. It reminded me to get this book ASAP.

I'm halfway done with the book and Grant's character only just showed up so be prepared - the book is really different from the movie. I'm not even sure how much it will truly intersect with the screenplay, but in the end, it doesn't matter to me. Both stories are a wonderful, headache-inducing take on a zombie virus.

That was the most intriguing part - a zombie virus that spreads through words.
I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Although it is rather expensive in my country. For a paperback.
I might just buy the kindle-edition when I'm through with The Strain.

I've only seen the movie so far but loved the concepts expressed, so I ordered the actual physical book. That's a rarity these days because I love me some instant electronic gratification but I am here to tell you: if they ever make a perfume that smells like a book store, it'll be all I ever wear for fragrance.

You are in luck. I use Demeter for a lot of my cosplays cuz I'm a giant nerd (just in case that hadn't previously been clear) and think that the olfactory aspect to many (BUT NOT ALL, holy diver no not all) costumes can help sell the experience. Play-Doh Fragrance
