Clap if you want Vaun bakc!

Clap! Clap! Clap! If you want Vaun back! We all know that Vaun is leaving the show, and not in a good way! As well as he might not even be a born ether.
Mandolarianmwrneow. reminded me. That we the fans have the power, To not only bring our Vaun back. Into the story, but to give to him the story he deserves. I myself have seen the power of the fandom! So powerful. That characters have been brought back to life. On show that they were killed off on. All because the fans willed it so!
Just like Tinkerbell can be brought back to life by clapping. I hope we all will clap to bring Vaun back!

I'm just going to pretend that Vaun never got swapped out for Quinlan. My fic will stay the same - not going to retrofit it to accommodate Carlton Cuse's crap decisionmaking.
The power this fandom has is in our own significant creative energies and output. I don't feel greatly confident the show's going to make it past S2. Seriously... the writers and showrunner for The Strain are not putting in top effort, even though they've giving it lip service that they are (which is usually a danger sign of covering up something they know is mediocre). I say focus your energies into art and fics and keep him and Quinlan alive. You have control over that. No one can take that from you!

The show not making it past season 2. I would have to agree. I mean I love the show, but the writing and make-up is inconsistent. Their also killing off my favorite character, just to replace him with another, and I know that bothers the hell out of a lot of fans.
I will keep working on my own stuff. Had some great ideas for Vaun, but I like the thought that we as a fandom, could actually save Vaun and the strain.
It's at lest worth a try.

we can still save him,either as vaun or Quinlan...or both separate characters.
I changed my fic stuff because i like the idea of Vaun being someone i can work with for my headcannon,whereas Quinlan we already know all about anyway.
like i said before - they may kill him off in their work,but both remain alive in our hearts and minds!

I mentioned this on AO3 comments - I wrote myself into a corner which really stumped me as far as amount of ground I needed to cover vs amount of time. Exploiting the empty spaces of the book plot as the story gets closer and closer to the end of Book 2 has become a monster challenge, mainly because the timeline before the nuclear explosions is now VERY short. Hard to move the story arc in a realistic fashion with only 2-3 days left before everything goes to hell.
The tale then continues for approx 9 months after society falls, and that 9 month period of time is scaring the hell out of me because it's such an enormous space, compared to my constraints up till now.
When I come back to it fresh I should be able to move forward more quickly.
And yes, I make everything in my life this hard. I don't know why. I like to challenge myself needlessly.

I have another rant..but haven't finished it yet.
More SUGGESTIONS than anything..Like what I'd like to see happen on Sunday, as opposed to what will...
I will have to update it once it airs and I come up with THE SAVE.
IF it's even possible.
I have a feeling that Cuse will make the death quite final. Just erased the best part of the show and replace it with Quinlan.
I've accepted that he's going to die, but to me VAUN is dying, NOT Quinlan. I dunno what happened to Mr. Sensitive from S1. Maybe went back to Italy to farm olives and cobble those darn shoes.
Also, is it just me or are they moving along the body switch of The Master as well. It's dawning on me that Robert is getting the shaft as well. Didn't he take over Bolivar in TNE???

I think whats happening is that they are afraid of not being renewed for another season so they are trying to tie all the loose ends and possibly make the ending for this season close out as near to the book as possible so as not to leave another cliffhanger.

The Master didn't take over Bolivar Body. Until the end of book two. I have read that all 3 books. Were going to be broken up. Between 5 seasons. With The Fall being season 2 and 3. The Night Eternal 4 and 5.

I'm still pretty biter that they change his personality so much. I liked the sass that Vaun has, but I also likes his persona from season one. Like mandalorianmeowmeow said. I wonder if Mr. sensitive as gone back to Italy!

I agree that it feels rushed. Was wondering the same thing- they'd have to come up with different story lines/change some major plot aspects if they're going to (/are able to) continue beyond this season.
I feel the bit about the Master is partially due to the bit of backlash they got for making him look like a giant clown.

- Nah, it's in the book... Q and Setrakian never meet. Abraham is killed before Q really comes in to the picture as I recall. I remember Q saying something about it being too bad he didn't meet the old man, as he'd be an interesting dinner partner.
I'm saying, if they follow book plot then I'd think Abraham would die soonish? Then again there's nothing saying that Q has to see the main crew this season...
Not to mention they're taking different routes altogether so maybe Q will meet Setrakian!

I'm not a big fan of added characters in book to screen adaptations, so I'm really upset that they changed Vaun to be his own character! He would have a fantastic translation of Mr. Quinlan
